Here we have compiled a list and short summary of the organizations/institutes we visited during this trip. We have also included a link to each organization's website if you would like to learn more.
The Mines Advisory Group

The Mines Advisory Group is a non-governmental organization (NGO) whose main purpose is to assist those who are directly affected by landmines left from the Vietnam War. Their main goals are to remove and destroy undetonated bombs and mines in order to clear these areas so they are safe for civilians. MAG also provides educational programs that teach about the risks and dangers of landmines and how to live and work in the area before it is cleared. MAG has been leading the removal of these landmines and cluster munitions in Vietnam (Quang Tri and Quang Binh) with their office located in Ha Noi.

Vietnamese Association for Vietnamese Agent Orange Victims

The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) was established under the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs on December 17th 2003 and came into operation on 10th January 2004. The association represents the Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange in relationships with domestic and foreign organizations and in calling assistance to Agent Orange victims. It also represents individuals in fighting for justice as well as in asking the US Government to take responsibility in the remediation of consequences of Agent Orange People.
The Society for the Korean War Surviving Families

The Society for the Korean War Surviving Families was created by families of those who were victims of the Korean War. Their main focus is to pass a law that will require the government to acknowledge the massacres done by the Korean government against the people. In order to raise awareness around these injustices, there have been a series of protests and other events.
Korea-Vietnam Peace Foundation

The Korea-Vietnam Peace Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in September 2016 to address and raise awareness of Korean troops’ massacre of Vietnamese civilians during the Vietnam War. The foundation seeks to uncover the truth of Korean participation in Vietnam War, promote reconciliation and compensation for Vietnamese victims, and advocate peace between Vietnam and Korea. The foundation declares solidarity with the war victims not only in Vietnam but also around the world, assists in healing war’s pain and strives to become and international peace organization.
The Institute for Historical Studies

The Institute for Historical Studies is a private research institute that was established to first create collaborative research on Korean history, then share these results, and finally, help direct Korea into the future. The institute has released a number of academic journals like Critical Review of History that has been made accessible to the public. There has been a lot of work with institutes in other countries like Japan, China, Taiwan, Germany, and more to create a sense of historical awareness that can clear Korea's history.
The House of Sharing

The House of Sharing is a nursing home for surviving victims of Japanese military sexual slavery during WWII, also called “Comfort Women”. It is one of the leaders in seeking the truth of war atrocities, demanding formal apologies and compensation for the inflicted Korean women.
